  • The Danger of Sheehan. 2006-02-01. When Cindy Sheehan first arrived on the scene, I was touched by her story. How could anyone not be? I didn’t particularly think the President should give in and talk to her in Camp Casey–he already had once, after all, and that’s more than most Americans get–but she made a brave stand.

I just dropped Media Matters from my news reader, thanks to this ridiculously insulting post-primary propaganda: Fox News’ Cameron misrepresented election returns to argue that Lieberman had support among “blue-collar” voters. I thought Media Matters was a media watchdog blog that pointed out instances of conservative bias, but as I’ve grown to suspect and as that post clearly shows, it’s really a media watchdog blog that highlights failures to promote liberal bias.

Of course, as the story unfolded throughout the day, it turned out that Webb’s bill will just prevent the President from using the 2002 Iraq authorization for action against Iran “in some cases,” which is quite a bit less bold than the 2-second morning radio sound bite led me to believe.
