Redskins Pummeled At Halftime.

Well the Redskins are getting their butts kicked.

Washington at Tampa Bay Prediction.
2006-01-04.
Washington travels to Tampa Bay for the first round of the playoffs this Saturday. Who would have thought I’d be saying that? The last time Washington was in the playoffs was 1999.

Washington at Seattle.

I was indeed wrong about Washington at Tampa Bay, although I shouldn’t have been. No way did the Redskins deserve to win that game after the offense stunk up the joint so badly. 120 yards??

Washington at Dallas.
2006-09-18.
Ugh. It was embarrassing to watch. The first week, I thought the Redskins looked average; last night, they looked horrible.

Week 3, Washington at Houston.
2006-09-25.
I didn’t see the game, but apparently it was a blowout against the hapless Texans (as was expected). The Giants lost (despite what appears to be a valiant fourth-quarter comeback attempt) but the Eagles won, putting them in first place by a game. The Cowboys had a bye week and didn’t play.

Week 4, Jacksonville at Washington.
2006-10-02.
One-fourth of the season is behind us. Washington looked like a completely different team from the one I saw two weeks ago. That is, they looked like professionals again.

Week 5, Washington at NY Giants.
2006-10-08.
A total suck-fest by the Redskins this week. Not much else to say about it. The momentum from the past two victories came to a crashing halt.

Week 6, Tennessee at Washington.
2006-10-16.
To quote from last week: “A total suck-fest by the Redskins this week.” I might add that it was an even worse suck-fest than last week, because Washington lost to a winless team with a rookie quarterback. I only saw the last quarter-and-a-half, but it was just awful. No change in the NFC East standings, though: The Eagles lost, so Washington remains 2 games behind, now with 10 games left to play.

Week 7, Washington at Indianapolis.
2006-10-23.
Washington forgot to show up in the second half of their game this past week, so they got blown out by the Colts despite an unexpected 1-point lead at halftime. Thankfully, the Eagles also lost again so the Redskins remain 2 games behind, now with 9 games left to play. They are off next week, during which time I hope they figure out how to play football at the professional level.

Week 8, Bye.
2006-10-30.
Washington didn’t play this past weekend, but the Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants did. With the Giants win, they continue to hold first place and look like the team to beat. Their win also drops Washington to a full 3 games behind in the division with 9 games left to play.

Week 9, Dallas at Washington.
2006-11-06.
Washington pulled a win out of their collective butts by blocking what should have been Dallas’s last-second game-winning field goal and getting a facemask penalty on the ensuing runback. But it counts as a win no matter how ugly or unlikely it is. :) Overall, the Redskins showed improvements in their passing offense (that is, they actually had one), but their defense still looked pretty shaky, especially on third down.

Week 10, Washington at Philadelphia.
2006-11-13.
Ugly, ugly, ugly. I didn’t see most of the game because I fell asleep in the first half, and the game was over by the time the second half started. That humiliating defeat all but eliminates any possibility of the Redskins making the playoffs this year.
