We survived Holy Week okay (unlike SOME Christian icons who shall remain nameless…). By my count, including Palm Sunday and funerals, Cynthia has played for eleven services this week so far. There is an Easter Vigil service tonight and two more on Easter Sunday. 150 words.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for! I freely admit that I have copied a lot of information from other people who have done much more intensive work than I have. All my sources are credited in the footnotes, though. 56 words.

I haven’t been doing very much lately except researching my family history. I find the whole process of piecing together concrete information from small bits and pieces pretty fascinating. Yesterday I actually went to the Library of Virginia and looked up some more information. 249 words.

I have been feeling rather poorly the last couple of days, so I stayed home from work to rest up. While doing so, I continued scanning some family photographs. I have now scanned 739 slides and photographs. 81 words.

Thanks to a chance encounter with FamilySearch.org, the LDS genealogy web site, I was able to document some more of my ancestors. This particular branch of ancestors comes from my great-grandmother Matilda Gray’s branch. (Individual I469 on my genealogy page.) I located a bunch of previously unknown information on the ancestry of her father’s parents, Joseph P. Gray and Martha Elizabeth Baker. 94 words.

The other day, I found an invitation to Elmer and Anna’s wedding, which shows the wedding date as April 1, 1926. Previously, I had always thought their wedding was April 1, 1925, because Dad had noted on his slides that Elmer and Anna’s 25th anniversary party was on April 1, 1950. So I suppose that means the 25th anniversary was actually on April 1, 1951. 101 words.
