  • 16:27 # Oh I just realized I still have my automated blog notification thing going and still using the blaugust hashtag oops.

    • 16:27 # If only I had the slightest idea how I did those notifications or how to change/disable them.

    • 16:30 # Ah ha! I still had the tab open in a browser. It was EchoFeed doing the notifications. I turned them off. I don’t really like spammy notifications cluttering up my otherwise scintillating content.

    • 16:31 # However, as soon as I said I don’t like notifications in my timeline, it dawns on me that the only way to implement Mastodon comments on my blog is to put a spammy notification in my timeline. Ah well.

  • 16:48 # InoReader has added a spiffy new tag on posts that have video links in them. It may or may not come as a surprise that a fair number of blog posts have video links in them.

  • 22:00 # I tried out Dragon Age: The Veilguard and ended up returning it. Felt like I could wait for a sale to continue with it. It did make me think about playing through the earlier games, though.

  • 22:02 # One of my external USB drives full of videos from late 2023 seems to have died. Irritating.

    • 22:06 # That would be the one with all my Baldur’s Gate 3 videos on it. Lucky I uploaded them already.

    • 22:07 # However the ones I didn’t upload, e.g. the couple of Dragon’s Age Origins videos I was looking for, are lost to time.

  • 21:49 # This weekend I managed to get my riding mower working again by replacing the battery, disassembling and cleaning the mower deck, replacing the mower blades, and putting it all back together again. Grass was mowed and leaves were handled. (Leaves appear to be roughly 1/3 to 1/2 fallen at this time.)

  • 21:54 # I impulse-bought the new Until Dawn on the PS5 this weekend and binged my way through the whole game. It’s pretty good, although I don’t see myself replaying it anytime soon, which means it’s awfully pricey for such a short game (wish I’d noticed it was on sale on Steam, but it’s a perfect PS5 game). It’s more like a visual novel or a Telltale game; there isn’t very much “gameplay” in it. Sometimes the movement controls were annoying, because your character has a huge turning radius. And it was almost impossible to hold the PS5 controller “still” for those bits. But pretty good performances. No regrets.
