Potential spoilers for Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Underdark.
08:02 # Ahh. Three times I’ve come over to the laptop to type a pithy remark into this box (the semaphore.social post entry box), and all three times I’ve gotten distracted by something else and forgotten what I was going to type, and walked away, and I still can’t remember what it was I was going to say. This is one reason I don’t really want to see a lot of things to read on this page where I type my pithy remarks. I need separate accounts for reading and writing. #microblogging
08:07 # I woke up in a panic because I thought I’d forgotten I had a dentist appointment sometime this morning, but it turns out that appointment is next week. I forget about appointments a lot. It’s kind of a problem. (That was what I tried to remember to write down three times. It wasn’t as funny or interesting as it seemed in my head.) #health
08:28 # Baldur’s Gate 3. Last night I found yet more ways to extend my time in Act 1, out in Grymforge. Went looking for a deep gnome hiding way out in a corner of the map and had to go through some surprisingly hard-hitting ochre jellies to get there. Poor Tavi went down three times. And I learned that I need to get Karlach a decent non-slashing weapon to have on standby (except it’s really annoying that it takes a whole action to change weapons in combat). The Blooded Great Axe is amazing … except against ochre jellies. #baldursgate3
17:29 # Welp a perfectly nice random stranger appeared at my door looking for some house that was for rent (it isn’t this one and I had no idea what they were talking about) and now I will be terrified and paranoid and distracted for the remainder of the day. Is it some kind of conspiracy? Is someone out there targeting my property for mysterious reasons? Was it a private investigator just pretending to be a nice random stranger, but in reality they were trying to recon the place? A criminal casing the place to return in the middle of the night one night? The possibilities are endless. One thing is for sure, though, it definitely can’t be a perfectly nice random stranger because what the hell man. This ain’t the 50s. It’s end times now. #homeowner
Ah, oops, I forgot to fetch and publish this one yesterday.
