Information Overload

104 words.

I’m not really dead, but I’ve been suffering from information overload, so I reduced my news intake for a little while. This past weekend, in fact, I didn’t watch any news or read any blogs. It was surprisingly refreshing. It made me realize how much of a burden it is to stay informed about news and politics in this country, especially when roughly 95% of your time and energy is spent sifting through partisan noise and misinformation. No wonder half the country doesn’t vote. I guess this is what the people of Iraq have to look forward to after they stop shooting each other.
