Endgame Viable

This terrorist plot to blow up planes over the Atlantic doesn’t make much sense to me, when you consider that media coverage is a terrorist’s greatest ally. Last time I checked, there weren’t very many television cameras hovering around in the middle of the ocean waiting to capture live pictures of fiery explosions. If a hijacked plane explodes but there’s nobody around to see it, does it make a terrorist statement?
