The Macedonians\’s Days Are Numbered

For those of you flocking to this page to read my insights on programming, you might have noticed that I haven’t written much of anything in this space. Most likely, that was why I removed this Technical section in the first place. But recently I thought.. hey, here’s a good idea.. how about a section of me writing about programming! I’ll bring back the Technical section! So here it is, and then I go and stop writing any meaningful programs, and thus have nothing to write about. Not that I would have much to write about anyway. (“Hey man, I used Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName().Version today.. it was soooo cooool!”)
Okay, I admit it. I haven’t really done anything at all with my home computer except play Rome: Total War. Yes, that’s it. Are you happy now??
Speaking of which, I’ve been playing Rome: Total War for, like, FOREVER and I still haven’t made it into A.D. yet. Does this game ever end? And for this much investment in time, I freakin’ better win this silly game. The idea that anyone might actually play through this much game more than once is pretty hard to believe. I’ve successfully beaten the pesky Britons (and their damnable chariots) off the mainland back to their home island (and even taken one of their territories there to boot!), I’ve pushed the Gauls back over the mountains into France, and I’ve destroyed the Dacians completely. I think next I’m going to wipe the Britons completely off of their stupid island, since they are reeling and unsteady after losing 4 territories in a row and ripe for a knock-out punch, and then I’ll push over the mountains and wipe out the Gauls. Then I’ll turn my attention west to the dreaded Macedonians that keep attacking my ships. The big question is: Will I be able to acquire 50 territories and conquer Rome in the time remaining??
