Now you may have noticed there are 42 games there but only 31 days in August. I don’t exactly know how that’s going to work. I’m building in some wiggle room in case I have to throw some games out because of technical problems or just not feeling like playing them on any given day.

Steam reported I had some 80+ games with zero time played. I trimmed out anything I had definitely played before, anything that was multiplayer only, anything that was a “retro” game that probably wouldn’t record very well, all the stacks of Assassin’s Creed and Batman games, and anything else I saw that I definitely wouldn’t want to play for this experiment. I may have missed some. Anyway that cut the list down to 42.

I wish there was a way to reset the time played on individual Steam games. Steam thinks I’ve played Fallout 3 for a billion hours and it’s always at the top of my list of most-played games, but I know for a fact it’s because I left it running 24/7 while I was at work and only played a couple hours a day like I normally do. In reality I only played through the main quest and that was about it. It really throws off the data. :)
