  Lately I’ve been on a crusade to digitally sign my emails. I tried some free email certificates from StartSSL and Thawte, but neither one was quite what I wanted (they just show an email address with something like a generic “free member” as the common name). So I decided to try making my own certificate authority with OpenSSL. 2,316 words.
