In completely unrelated news, I saw this story in my reader a while back and couldn’t believe my eyes: Obama administration to allocate $45M for cops in schools. It’s from FOX News so you know I couldn’t have made it up, and you know it must have killed them to put it on their web site. (FOX News slaaaaaam! Hrm, what show is that from? I can’t remember. Maybe it was on The Daily Show when John Oliver was hosting.)

Some time ago, after Sandy Hook, I wrote:

… on a more philosophical note, I’d like to comment on what it would be like to live in a police state where armed guards need to patrol every elementary school in order for everyone to feel safe. Well, no, actually I don’t want to comment on that.

Looks like the Obama administration took some “meaningful action” after all, bringing us a few steps closer to that police state.
