Irene: Redux

So we thought everything was great when we got power back on Sunday. Then, the power went out again at noon on Tuesday. It’s Thursday night now, and we are not “scheduled” to have power restored until tomorrow night. So we bought a generator today (shockingly, Home Depot had a couple in stock), with which we are able to run the important things: the FIOS box, a wireless router, and a couple of laptops. And a fan.

As I write this, there is a crew out on the street presumably working to restore power sometime tonight. But I still don’t regret getting a generator. We lose power in this neighborhood all the time.
