It Happened Just The Other Day

I almost cut my hair today.  No wait, I actually did.  On Saturday.

Something didn’t feel right about turning 40 with long hair, plus we just finished a pet era*.  So I’ve dropped the mantle of non-conformity and switched to a regular short haircut just like everyone else in the world.  I’m pretty sure my hair hasn’t been this short since I was a baby.  It feels quite strange, which I suppose in some philosophical way echoes the strangeness of entering life’s fifth decade.

  • It occurred to me one day that you can measure significant epochs in your life by the timespan of your pets’ lives.
