This Is An Outrage

154 words.

I am outraged that Hurricane Gustav is interfering with the Republican National Convention.  How am I supposed to compare it with the DNC now?

And now, a quick impersonation of the entire news industry:  “OMG ANOTHER HURRICANE IS COMING OMG WHERES IT GOING OMG OMG COULD IT BE OMG OMG IS IT POSSIBLE OMG OMG ITS!!! HEADING!!! RIGHT!!! FOR!!! NEW ORLEANS!!!! OMG OMG GET EVERYBODY DOWN THERE RIGHT!!! NOW!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!11!!1!”

They are currently showing pictures of water “overtopping” the industrial canal on a continuous loop, talking non-stop about how this is evidence of the disaster they’ve been talking about for days.  It’s hardly important that this is a completely normal and expected consequence of large amounts of wind and rain.

I find myself actually hoping that some reporters or producers or cameramen die in the process of covering this hurricane.  That’s the only way they’ll ever stop this idiotic hurricane news fetish.
