Primary Eve

160 words.

Despite keeping a semi-watchful eye on the 2008 presidential race for what seems like an eternity, I have no idea who to vote for tomorrow.  There are huge negatives with each one of the remaining candidates:

  • Barack: He avoided leaving a voting record, so we don’t really know anything about him.
  • Hillary: She carries the Clinton baggage, which would result in 4 more years of bitterly divisive partisanship.
  • John: He’s a terrible speaker, he’s old, and he appeases conservatives.
  • Mike: He’s in favor of marriage and life amendments.
  • Ron: He’s fiesty — and crazy.

I can’t say I would want to vote for any of these candidates, which means I need to figure out who to vote against. Somehow that doesn’t give me a very patriotic feeling.

(Not that my vote matters a whole lot anyway, considering that polls show Obama will carry Virginia easily, and I can’t imagine how McCain could lose the Republican nomination regardless of Virginia’s outcome.)
