NuSphere PhpEd

I’m trying out NuSphere’s PhpEd. For lo these many years, my PHP IDE has been a text editor and a web browser. Yep, that’s it. But now I think I need some Intellisense.
My ideal choice would probably be Zend’s IDE, but it’s rather expensive. It’s hard to justify spending $500 just to work on your home page. By contrast, the standard version of PhpEd is “only” around $120.
So far it seems to be working reasonably well. The syntax highlighting works (although the default colors suck), and it’s able to parse out my classes and give me a handy list of functions. The interface is a bit clunky when compared to Visual Studio, but that’s to be expected, since Visual Studio is impossible to top. For example, the Intellisense doesn’t pop up as fast as Visual Studio’s, and the format of the popups is a little weird. I guess that’s something I’ll just have to get used to. It has built-in FTP support, which is cool. It even has a built-in web server, though I don’t have much use for it because I’ve already got a local PHP server running. Haven’t tested any of the debugging features yet.
