Stamp Act Repeal, Part II

123 words.

I blogged too soon about the ECUSA — the General Convention, at the last minute, caved in to Mother England. In response to the Windsor Report, the House of Bishops voted to “exercise restraint” in electing bishops “whose manner of life presents a challenge” to the Anglican Communion. While not technically a ban on electing gay bishops, it could be interpreted that way, because it would now take a super amazing gay priest to justify wading through all this political fallout again. The liberal and conservative sides both seem disappointed with the resolution, but I don’t see how else the ECUSA could remain part of the Anglican Communion without it. Whether that’s an important consideration or not is a question for another time.
