SusanG Jumps To Conclusions… Again

I think I’ve made it clear in the past that I’m not a fan of DailyKos (especially georgia10 and SusanG.) ~~They’re~~ Their [oops] goal, after all, is to “crash the gate” (a euphemism for overthrowing the government), presumably by any means necessary. Here’s another reason why they are an untrustworthy propaganda machine, from last Friday: Gitmo: The Hell You Can’t Escape By Dying. SusanG quotes an AP story about prisoners attacking guards trying to stop an attempted suicide, and then writes:

My guess is the prisoners who tried to kill themselves yesterday - and those detainees desperate enough to use fans and light fixtures to attack guards trying to stop a suicide hanging - have about as much faith in the United States taking UN advice as we do. While I’m not advocating letting people kill themselves on our watch, there is a level of desperation in these acts that scream of hopelessness, and rationally so.

Granted, the early AP story she quoted is pretty sketchy. But, I mean, can SusanG possibly jump to conclusions any quicker?? Can she possibly be any more sympathetic to terrorists than that?? Can she possibly stretch any farther to come up with a justification to attack American policy??

When I first heard the suicide/guard attack story last week, I thought, “oh, I guess they were trying to harass the guards, as any enemy combatant would do. I guess that’s more proof that those terrorists are legitimately locked up.” So if the terrorists are indeed feeling “hopeless” and suicidal, my response would generally fall along the lines of, “F***ing hurray! Maybe after they’re dead, someone less barbaric will be born to replace them.”

So today I find, via. Michelle Malkin and Little Green Footballs, a Reuters story from Friday evening that reports a few more details:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Ten Guantanamo prisoners lured U.S. guards into a cell with a staged suicide attempt, then attacked them with light fixtures, fan blades and other improvised weapons while guards fired rubber balls and used a grenade launcher to subdue them, U.S. officials said on Friday.

I won’t be holding my breath waiting for SusanG’s retraction and/or response to this new information. After all, it’s far more advantageous for the dKos “gate crashing” (aka. brainwashing) campaign to leave her story untouched.
