Rainy Commute

164 words.

There’s nothing quite like starting your workday by driving on Interstate 95 for a half hour in the rain. Let’s see if I can paint a picture for you. You can see that there are cars around you, but you can’t quite make out how far away they are or how fast they’re going. So you hurtle down the highway at 65 miles per hour, hoping that nobody slams on their brakes in front of you. If they do, you are probably toast. And look! All of the tractor trailers have gathered together in the center lane, usually in long convoys, so that they spray water on both the left and right lanes equally. And you may also find that many astute drivers, especially the ones blocking traffic in the left lane, like to settle at a point just past said tractor trailers, so that you yourself end up right next to a giant truck washing your windshield for miles and miles. Good times.
