Slideshows Ahoy

194 words.

If you are the kind of person who obsessively clicks links you’ve already seen many times before, you may have already noticed that there is a new feature now available in the pictures, thanks to a helpful suggestion from Cynthia. If you are the type of person who is not willing to look for things on your own, I’ll just tell you that there is now a slideshow link on all my picture galleries. It requires a Javascript-enabled browser, of course, but if you don’t have one of those then you are disasterously behind on the technology curve and probably can’t even read this, since you would still be speaking Latin and probably be wearing a toga.

Amazingly enough, the slideshow thing was my first real experience with Javascript. That may sound surprising, given what I’ve previously written about my staggering wealth of computer programming knowledge, but it is nevertheless true. I judge Javascript to be mildly interesting, but not particularly worth expending too many of my precious brain cells on. Besides the unspeakable lack of semi-colon enforcement, the built-in objects suffer from a wealth of naming inconsistencies.

Okay, my work here is done.

This page is a static archival copy of what was originally a WordPress post. It was converted from HTML to Markdown format before being built by Hugo. There may be formatting problems that I haven't addressed yet. There may be problems with missing or mangled images that I haven't fixed yet. There may have been comments on the original post, which I have archived, but I haven't quite worked out how to show them on the new site.

Sorry, new comments are disabled on older posts. This helps reduce spam. Active commenting almost always occurs within a day or two of new posts.
